About Richie
Richie Hernandez is an accomplished musician whose life is driven by passion. This deep love for the artistry of sound ensured that music would not only be a hobby but the foundation of his career and life. His musical adventure began at the age of 13 when he got his hands on his first guitar. Falling immediately in love with the instrument, he soaked in everything he could to learn and grow as an artist. By the time he was 17, Richie was playing with eclectic bands throughout San Diego and Los Angeles.
As a session musician and sideman, he has enjoyed the opportunity to play alongside incredible talent. He can often be found playing as a solo artist around San Diego County. He’s played all the local spots, gained new fans touring throughout the state, and even performed on KUSI news. Not limited by genre, Richie plays Blues, Americana, Soul, Classic Rock, Jazz, Funk, and Reggae. No matter the style, Richie loves, lives, and breathes music, pouring his passion into each and every performance.

He has extensive experience with minor repairs as well as highly-technical and complex modifications.
While he has the skills to work on just about anything, much of his repair work has centered on high-value guitars ranging from $3000 to $10,000. Clients keep coming back to Richie because they know he will care for their instrument the same way they would. Many other repair shops use a professional name and reputation but give the actual repair work to a far less experienced apprentice. Richie’s Guitar Shop is different. A one-man show, Richie personally handles everything from start to finish ensuring exceptional service.
